QR-bill: transition period for unstructured addresses has ended
Since the end of September 2026, addresses must also be structured in payment files.
Since 21 November 2025, only structured and complete addresses may appear in the QR code of a QR-bill. «Structured» means that name, postcode, town and country each have their own field. For payment files (pain format), which companies use to pay QR-bills in bulk, a transition period applied until 30 September 2026.
That period has now ended. According to Luzerner Kantonalbank, the switch for bulk payments, originally planned for November 2026, has been postponed for now.
