Which POS systems can be connected to accounting software?

Last checked: 29.10.2026 · Responsible:

In short

Many POS systems can pass their sales to accounting, but in different ways: through a direct interface, through an add-on service from a third party, or as an export file that you import. A direct connection to a specific Swiss program such as bexio or Abacus is not a given. So always ask which accounting software the till can actually be connected to and what the connection costs.

How do POS sales get into the accounts?

Direct interface: the till and the accounting software are linked and sales are booked automatically, usually once a day. This saves the most work.

Add-on service: a third party connects the till and the accounting software, often for a separate subscription. This also works when the till itself offers no connection to your program.

Export: the till creates a file, for example for each daily closing, which you or your accountant import into the accounting software. It is cheap, but you have to remember to do it.

Which connections are verified?

On its Swiss integrations page, Lightspeed lists Abacus (AbaNinja) and Winbiz, among others, under accounting. For Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series), the third-party provider Omniboost offers a connection to bexio with its own subscription.

payfix lists bexio among its standard integrations.

SumUp: according to the providers, card payments can be connected directly to Pfeffersack and Atlanto.

ready2order advertises export to all common accounting systems and offers an API. With an add-on module, ITworks creates a file in DATEV format for each daily closing, ready to import.

For the other tills in our comparison, we found no specific accounting software on the provider's website. That does not mean there is no connection: ask the provider.

What should you look out for?

Sales should arrive split by VAT rate and by payment method (cash, card, TWINT) so that till, bank and VAT return match. Card payment fees are often deducted separately and must also be booked. Ask your accountant which solution they prefer before you decide.

Which checked tills pass sales to accounting?

Checked POS systems by starting price. “Export to accounting” means the provider confirms a connection or export, but not necessarily to your program.
